A COZY HEARTH FOR THE HOLDAYS | OUTDOOR CHRISTMAS DECOR STYLING TIPS
Creating your own Cozy Hearth for the Holidays can be simple with these tips.
Begin with something that brings you joy and build off that. Ours was a large wooden spool of velvet ribbon in a rich olive color. We loved how the olive looked with the woodsy Christmas decor.
.
Start with a Theme for Cohesion | As mentioned, our starting point was the velvet ribbon. The ceramic dishware brought in an earthy element that compliments the pinecones and greenery. Fur and blankets added an extra layer of cozy texture.
Build Your Base | We started with the mantel, layering a green garland with an icicle garland and pinecones.
Develop Composition | Once the wreath was hung we thought it was more interesting to stagger the nutcrackers at different heights asymmetrically rather than one on each side of the wreath. The stockings were hung on the opposite side of the nutcrackers for balance.
Mix Textures | We are loving all these textures! The plush fur in the pillows and stocking, soft blanket, glazed ceramic mug, wood chairs and the prickly texture of the garland all compliment each other. Layering all these textures makes for a more interesting Christmas display that is not one-note.
Layer Lighting | This outdoor fireplace is truly special. To complete the decor we always like to layer lighting. A roaring fire is a great touch.
