FORAGER’S FEAST | THANKSGIVING TABLE DECOR STYLING TIPS
Want to create your own Thanksgiving tablescape? Here are some easy tips to be sure to impress your guests and level-up your table styling.
Begin by taking inventory of what you own. Building an inspiring tablescape does not have to cost a fortune. Your existing white dinner plates can be elevated with a couple additional pieces. If you have colored or patterned plates, try pulling your color story from that and enhance with napkins that compliment.
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF FORAGING. You can truly make up your centerpiece from found greenery. It will look custom and less stuffy from something you will find at a florist shop.
Start with a Theme for Cohesion | Our jumping off point was looking to see what we had and decided these teal bowls and terracotta rimmed plates would be our color story. When foraging we grabbed elements that would reinforce that theme.
Build Your Base | We grounded the table with the terracotta linen runner with a spine candelabra running across it.
Develop Composition | Greenery and maple leaves were placed around the candelabra. Once the foundation of greenery was built, we added these really fun and bright berry pods on each side of the centerpiece, ensuring equal distribution on each side of the table.
Mix Textures and Bring it to Life | Larger pieces were added next. Blood oranges with slices cut out, quartered persimmons and chestnuts were places on each side.
Sidenote- don’t forget the chestnut pods when foraging. The spiky pods brought a nice texture in the mix of all the foliage. Texture will always make your design have more depth and interest.
Layer Lighting | Taper candles in our color story were the final touch of the centerpiece, adding tone and height.
The final look where everything comers together. The chargers, patterned plates and linen napkins play so well with all the texture and color in the centerpiece. Color, pattern, texture….BOOM! Happy Thanksgiving
